ABC

Here's another clue to where the title of this blog came from.  I have been a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) for oh, over 6 years now.  I quickly went from Novice to Professional Bridal Consultant.  Then, after 3 years of active membership in Wisconsin, I sent in the thorough portfolio project required to advance to Accredited Bridal Consultant.  I have held steady there, even after moving to Texas.  I am working with a lovely group of women in order to start up a local networking group (LNG) of ABC here in D/FW.  That's a lot of letters....but I digress.

The ultimate attainable status within the ABC is Master Bridal Consultant.  We honor and respect the MBCs.  They have shown great aptitude in nurturing the wedding industry, giving more credibility to the role of the wedding consultant.  Since joining ABC in 2004, I have yearned to become a Master Bridal Consultant.  I think it is the most respected title given by any bridal consultant association out there, and to EARN it would be an incredible honor.  Though, I'm not one of those people who will get points (I'll explain the points system later) and turn in a wedding and say I deserve it.  I know that you need to prove that you really are making a contribution to the industry by mentoring other planners, speaking regionally/nationally at conferences and seminars, and getting published (among many more things you should be doing).

I want to earn it and will use this blog to stay accountable.
